# Cancel assessment

# Cancel assessment {#ariaid-title1}

If an assessment is no longer needed, you can cancel it to terminate its progress. Once canceled, the assessment becomes read only.

## Before you begin

Role required: admin

## Procedure

1. Navigate to your workspace and then to your list of assessments.  
   Here's an example of how to navigate to this list in the Compliance Workspace.
   1. Navigate to AllPolicy and ComplianceCompliance Workspace.
   2. Select the tasks icon ![]().
   3. Select the Control attestationsSmart Assessments on the left panel.
   4. The smart assessments list is displayed.

2. Select the assessments that you want to cancel.
3. To cancel the assessment, on the top pane select more action icon ![]() and select Cancel.
4. In the Confirmation dialog box, select Confirm.
