# Create risk color styles

# Create risk color styles {#ariaid-title1}

Create a library of risk color styles to use for different assessment types and
matrixes. A risk color style is a combination of a background color and a text color. The
color styles help maintain consistency when you configure risk assessments.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn_risk.admin

## About this task


ServiceNow® provides preconfigured color styles. You can either modify the preconfigured colors or create your own color styles.

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllAdvanced Risk AssessmentAdministrationRisk Color Styles.
2. Select New.
3. On the form, fill in the fields.

   | Field | Description |
   |-|-|
   | Color style | Name of the text and color code combination. For example, <kbd class="ph userinput">High Risk</kbd>. |
   | Next experience color styles ||
   | Note: The default color for the customized risk color style is set to Critical, with the variant set to Primary. You can manually change the color and variant based on the requirement. ||
   | Color | Color that appears as the background color. It's the fundamental hue from which different shades variants are derived. |
   | Variant | Variant refers to different shades or tints of the base color. The options are as follows: * Primary: Standard or base shade of the color. It's typically the most pure or neutral version of the color. * Secondary: Lighter shade of the primary color. * Tertiary: Lightest shade of the primary color. {#create-risk-color-style__ul_d5d_j2j_c2c} |
   | Preview | Visual representation of how the selected color and its variants appear in the interface. |
   | Classic color styles ||
   | Rating color | Color that appears as the background color. |
   | Text color | Color that appears as the text color. |

4. Select Submit.

## Result

The risk color style is ready to use.
