# Set up the Document Template

Set up the Document Template (HTML Template) that is used for generating the PDF of the Operational vulnerability record.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn_oper_res.admin

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllOperational VulnerabilityDocument Templates.
2. To create the document template, select New.
3. On the HTML Template record form, fill in the fields.  
   For more information on the fields, see [HTML Template form](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/dTsH2hv3T0SVSBuS~2W_jw "On the HTML Template form, fill in the fields.").
4. Select Submit.
5. To insert date variables in the PDF, select Insert Date.  
   You can use the button multiple times to add different types of dates based on the variables you choose.
6. To insert the table of contents in the PDF, select Insert Table of Contents.
7. To add blocks for advanced search, select Add Blocks.

   | Option | Description |
   | To add an existing document block to the template | In Search blocks, type in the name of an existing document block, select the document block, and select Insert. |
   | To add a new document block to the template | Select Create New Block. |

8. To publish the template, select Publish.  
   Ensure that the template is published so that the PDF is generated with the right attributes.
9. To copy an existing assessment template, select it from the list and select Copy.
10. To update an existing assessment template, select it from the list and select Preview.
11. To update an existing assessment template, select it from the list and select Update.
