# Audit Test Plan Creation

# Create an audit test plan {#ariaid-title1}

Test plans can be created from scratch or based on test templates and describe how a
feature is to be tested.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn_audit.user, sn_audit.external_auditor

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllAuditAudit TestingTest Plans.
2. Click New.
3. On the form, fill in the fields.

   | Field | Description |
   |-|-|
   | Number | Unique identification number. |
   | Control | The control that this test plan covers. Note: This field is only visible when the Policy and Compliance Management plugin is activated. |
   | Test Template | The related test template. |
   | Duration | The expected duration of the test. |
   | Name | A brief and general description of the test plan. |
   | Design Test ||
   | Design expectations | Expectations of how a control is designed. |
   | Design assessment procedures | Document that shows how to assess if a control is designed effectively. |
   | Operation Test ||
   | Operation expectations | Expectations of how a control operates. |
   | Operation assessment procedures | Document that shows how to assess if a control is operating effectively. |

4. Click Submit.
