Create a manual metric definition to collect the data manually for a metric.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn_esg.metric_manager

## About this task

In the manual metric definition, the mode of data collection is manual. An option is available to set up the qualitative and quantitative metrics.  
Note:  
The forms for creating an automated metric definition or a manual metric definition point to the same sn_grc_metric_definition table. The difference between the two forms is the method of the collection.

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllOperational Sustainability ManagementOperational Sustainability WorkspaceMetricsManual metric definitions.
2. Select New.
3. On the form, fill in the fields.  
   For information about the fields, refer to [Manual metric definition fields](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/4MtlSX0i2ERQvJ9U8SNZgw "Detailed explanation of the fields on the manual metric definition form.").
4. Select Save.

## Result

The metric definition is saved in the Metric definitions list.
