# Generate an on-demand assessment {#ariaid-title1}

Use on-demand assessments to familiarize yourself with the basic assessment process
and test your questionnaires using minimal configuration.

Select the assessable records to evaluate, create the categories and
questions, and then assign an assessment to a user in the system. Pre-configured
stakeholders are not used for on-demand assessments.

## Prozedur

1. Create a [metric type](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/ao22e3hbMaa2CGa5s3CrsQ "In the Assessments application, assessment administrators create and administer metric types and assessable records.") and set the Schedule type to On demand to allow for testing of your assessment configuration.
2. Generate the assessable records for the metric type you created.
3. Create the [metric categories](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/MFPRf1_1e2JgOrXEWERHog "In the Assessments application, a metric is a trait or value used to evaluate assessable records.") required to evaluate the assessable records selected.
4. Create one or more assessment questions, or [metrics](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/MFPRf1_1e2JgOrXEWERHog "In the Assessments application, a metric is a trait or value used to evaluate assessable records."), for each category.
5. [Publish the
   assessment](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/bMwn~ceg35ft2sOO1hQcew "Before it is possible to generate assessments, an assessment administrator must publish the associated metric type.").
6. Perform an [on-demand assessment](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/Nra5mg8YSFx_loWb_~oy6w "On-demand assessments can be generated for metric types with the Schedule type field set to On demand.") to test your categories and metrics.
7. Analyze the assessment ratings in an [assessment scorecard](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/44FB4J3ng3CYIUHU6e52BQ "The Assessments application prepares printable scorecards. A scorecard displays easy-to-interpret assessment results, in which the current calculated ratings for an assessable record are compared to previous ratings or to the ratings of other records.") or [decision matrix](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/sWuR4IAnViah65SHRL4oHQ "Assessment results obtained by questionnaires and scripted metrics can be mapped to decision matrixes.").
