Add mapped input variables

  • You can add mapped input variables to any PaCE policy version in Draft state. Mapped inputs, including any mandatory inputs, can be passed when mapping policies to an object (tables and document IDs). A published policy version, meaning the version is Current or Archived, cannot be edited and mapping input variables cannot be modified or added.

    Prozedur

    1. In the Details form of the relevant policy, click the Versions tab.
    2. Click the Version Number of the relevant policy version.
    3. Click the Policy builder tab.
    4. In the Define variables section, click the Mapped Inputs tab.

    5. Click New.
    6. In the Create New Mapping Input form, fill in the fields.
      FieldDescription
      Variable name Enter the name of the variable or the name of the parameter.
      Type Click to select from the drop-down list of input types:
      • Decimal
      • Integer
      • IP Address
      • JSON
      • String
      • Sys ID (GUID)
      • Basic Date/Time
      • Basic Time
      • Data Array
      • Email
      • Other Date
      • True/False
      Description Enter a description of the mapping input.
      Default value Enter a default value for the input.

      If no value is entered for the mapping input when defining inputs, the default value is applied.

      Required Select the check box to make this input mandatory.

      When the input is mandatory, a value must be provided for this variable when mapping the policy, otherwise the policy cannot be executed.

    7. Click Save.
      After defining caller inputs and mapping inputs, you can:
