  • When you run a simulation of Dynamic IRE, the IRE comparison record summarization skill compares the results of the simulation with the results of static IRE. The skill displays a summary of the results of the simulation and enables record-level comparisons between the two methods to help you decide whether to commit to Dynamic IRE.

Warum und wann dieser Vorgang ausgeführt wird

Before you start to use Dynamic IRE, you should first run the simulation on a non-production instance. The simulation runs IRE processes on the Hardware class and its descending classes, and then compares effectiveness and performance for the two methods. Carefully examine the comparisons to help you determine whether to commit to using Dynamic IRE.

    Prozedur

    1. On a non-production instance, use one of the following methods to start the simulation:
        1. Navigate to the CI Class Manager and select the Hardware class.
        2. Under Class Info, select Identification Rule.
        3. In the Dynamic IRE section, select Simulate Dynamic IRE.
        1. Go to the cmdb_ire_output_comparison_item table and open the record in the form view.
        2. Select Summarize.
The simulation starts to run on the Hardware and descending classes, and shows a comparison of effectiveness and performance between Dynamic and static IRE.
    2. Select any bar on a chart to review the information in the Actions recommended by Dynamic IRE and static IRE section.

Charts of summary data that the skill generates.

    3. Select any record in the table that appears when you select a bar on a chart.

The information that appears when you select a data point is identical to the information that you view during typical, manual, static IRE. Review the information to determine whether to commit to Dynamic IRE.

    4. Decide whether to commit to Dynamic IRE.
      • If you have already completed a simulation, reviewed the results, and are ready to use Dynamic IRE with the Hardware class, select the agreement and then select Commit to Dynamic IRE. You can decide whether to commit to Dynamic IRE on your production instance.

At any time, select Cancel simulation to stop simulation execution.
