## Warum und wann dieser Vorgang ausgeführt wird

Users can subscribe to a knowledge article from either the Knowledge Management V3 user interface or the Knowledge Management Service Portal.
Hinweis:
* Users who are already subscribed to a knowledge base are also subscribed to the articles within that knowledge base.
* To subscribe to articles from the base service portal (https://\<instance name\> /sp?), you must navigate to the [Knowledge
Management Service Portal](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/643l~2QjRr_EJbS1ukyalQ "The Knowledge Management Service Portal homepage displays knowledge articles organized by knowledge base and category, as well as featured content and popular articles. Learn how to navigate the homepage to search for and find useful and relevant information quickly.") pages (for example, https://\<instance name\> /sp?id=kb_home) from the base service portal.
* To manage the knowledge subscription for knowledge base and knowledge article, see [Manage knowledge subscriptions](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/mlLmriOyse102pyW1qSBDw "Manage knowledge base and knowledge article subscriptions from the Notification Settings page.").
* Starting with the Washington DC release, the Knowledge Management v3 homepage (com.snc.knowledge3) is being prepared for deprecation in the future Y release. It is replaced by the Knowledge Management
Service Portal (com.snc.knowledge_serviceportal), which is active by default for customers on Madrid and later releases. For more information about the new experience, see [Knowledge Management Service Portal homepage features](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/643l~2QjRr_EJbS1ukyalQ "The Knowledge Management Service Portal homepage displays knowledge articles organized by knowledge base and category, as well as featured content and popular articles. Learn how to navigate the homepage to search for and find useful and relevant information quickly.").
