# Retire a de-duplication template

# Retire a de-duplication template {#ariaid-title1}

Retire a template that is no longer needed for processing its de-duplication tasks which remediate duplicate CIs.

## Vorbereitungen

The template that you want to retire must be in an [unpublished state](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/rrFwDlyutAdXxHaN~0~57w "After creating a de-duplication template, you must publish the draft template to make it available to run. You might also need to unpublish a published de-duplication template so it's temporarily unavailable for de-duplication remediation, until you republish it again.").  
Role required:

* To access the [Management view in CMDB Workspace](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/rGICBVTr4zLwFWV7GXqrQg "The Management view provides CMDB Admins with quick access to key management tools and deep insights into CMDB health and activities. The view provides details such as duplicate CIs and recent activities in the CMDB.") to perform de-duplication tasks, sn_cmdb_admin
* To access the [Governance view in Service Graph Workspace](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/IBj3IXzeQPTwTK~j5pU8iQ "Governance view in Service Graph Workspace provides administrators with important information, actions, and links to tools that are used to administer the CMDB.") to perform de-duplication tasks: sn_cmdb_editor or sn_cmdb_admin
* To perform this task, cmdb_dedup_admin or any role containing cmdb_dedup_admin (such as sn_cmdb_admin)

## Prozedur

1. Navigate to either workspace:  
   * Navigate to WorkspacesCMDB Workspace and then select Management in the CMDB Workspace menu bar.
   * Navigate to WorkspacesService Graph Workspace and then select the Governance icon in the navigation panel.

2. Select the De-duplication Template Library link in Management tools, in the Manage section.
3. In the library pane, select the template that you want to retire and then select Retire.
4. Select the template's context menu and then select Retire template.
5. In the Retire template dialog box, select Retire.

## Ergebnisse

A retired template is no longer available in the De-duplication dashboard and can't be used for remediation.
