# Use guided setup

# Use guided setup for ServiceNow Vault {#ariaid-title1}

Use guided setup to begin using an application with ServiceNow Vault easily.

## Vorbereitungen

Role required: Elevate to sn_vault_console.vault_console_admin role.

## Prozedur

1. Navigate to AllVaultVault console.
2. In the Guided vault section, select the Get started button for your application within the ServiceNow apps tab.  
   To begin the guided setup for your custom applications, go to the Custom apps tab. Select the + Add custom app button, choose the app you want to secure from the drop-down list, and then select Get started.
3. In Select app data use the table to select the application data to be used with ServiceNow Vault, select Preview classes when finished

   | Existing Class | The current classification of the data |
   | Recommended Class | The recommended classification for the data. |

4. In Preview data classification preview your data classification settings, when finished check agree and select the Apply recommended classes button.

5. In Classification summary review the results of the data classification, select Next when finished. Use [Data Classification](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/lTzMDApKb~I4lO2wqMzTBA "Group data by type, using pre-defined or user-defined data classifications. If you have an assigned data classification administrator or auditor role, you can administer different data classes or visually analyze the current state of different types of data within the instance.") to review any data that failed to classify.
6. In Protect existing data review the protection policies of the data.

   | Anonymization | Reports if a data anonymization policy can be, or already is applied to the data. |
   | Field encryption | Reports if a field encryption policy can be, or already is applied to the data. |
   | Zero trust access | Reports if a zero trust access policy can be, or already is applied to the data. |

7. **Wahlweise:** You can select Available to begin applying that columns respective application data protection policy, review [Vault tools and metrics](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/~Al2XOsDdcvZwyMr~_xGQg "Learn about the tools and metrics ServiceNow Vault uses to protect and discover sensitive data.") for more information.
8. In Protect real time data review your real time data protection policies, select Mark as complete when finished.

   | Type | Indicates whether the data is from a channel or column. |
   | Real time anonymization | Reports if there is a real time anonymization policy available, or already applied to the data. |

   Real time data will be protected across the entire instance and all applications.

## Ergebnisse

The select application now has classified data and protection policies. It will also report relevant metrics to the [ServiceNow Vault console dashboard](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/E~Uollm_r1HbxdYMxKO9GA "Use the ServiceNow Vault console dashboard to track and manage your ServiceNow Vault security tools.").
