Use external user self-registration to on-board a large volume of external users to your instance. This feature enhances identity verification to improve customer experiences and supports commonly used registration
flows.

External user self-registration enables a large group of users to register to a ServiceNow app without the help of an administrator. For example, a university with a large group of students needing on-campus parking could register themselves to the campus parking app. Each student would
be given a limited set of privileges specific to parking, and would complete an automated registration process. This system could generate a parking number, unique to each student, and insure they had a parking space.{#explore-self-register__what-is-ext-user-self-reg}

A self-registration flow consists of a custom ServiceNow app, in this case, a campus parking app. After configuring an app with necessary tables, an administrator would configure the registration, including a pre-registration flow, field mapping, post
registration mapping, captcha, role mapping and post registration flow.
