# Configure knowledge-based authentication {#ariaid-title1}

Configure knowledge-based authentication (KBA) as an identification and authentication method that verifies a user's identity by prompting them to answer preconfigured numeric questions.{#configure-kba__patch-rn-zp4-1}

## Prozedur

1. Navigate to AllAuthentication FactorsKnowledge Based Factor.
2. Perform the following:

   * [Map KBA questions to answers](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/j2O8HgNCu0GPoLDKNhbafw "Create knowledge-based questions and answer mapping to confirm the user's identity.")
