Picklist extensions enhance standard picklists by displaying additional option details, enabling automatic filtering, and supporting implicit product rules. Use them to simplify configuration logic and present richer, more
informative option selections to users.

Picklist extensions provide three benefits:

* Display: Picklist extensions display the option data that resides in a picklist field, along with additional information that corresponds to each picklist. The graphic below is a single-select picklist in the form of a grid check box with three options, displayed as a picklist extension. Values of picklist options are in the leftmost column (value). All other columns are extended information.

* Optional implicit filtering (include/exclude rules): When tied to another field, options are filtered without having to write additional rules.
* Optional implicit product rules: The Admin can define a product and quantity for each selectable option.
