Understand how to navigate the Usage Insights application, including the All Applications and individual application views.

Users with any Usage Insights viewer role can access the application by navigating to AllPlatform AnalyticsUsage Insights.

Different users have different rights and privileges in the Usage Insights application. For more information, see [Roles installed with Usage Insights](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/YlcuMshj75aF8HSSBvENIw "Several roles are installed to distinguish the activities different users can perform within Usage Insights.").

## All Applications view {#user-exp-analytics-dashboard__section_owq_dmk_ddc}

When you launch Usage Insights, there are two tabs: Overview and Events. The Overview tab allows you to view aggregate usage within a given time frame across all of your tracked applications. There are a number of filters you can configure to see scores for Active users, Sessions, and Average session duration, as well as a list showing usage by individual application. The Events tab enables you to filter a list of tracked user interactions across enabled Usage Insights applications.

## Metrics across all applications {#user-exp-analytics-dashboard__section_pzt_2mk_ddc}

You can view basic application usage and event details for all applications within an instance. Select All Applications from the applications list to see these metrics simultaneously.

{#user-exp-analytics-dashboard__table_dqh_bgq_hdc__entry__2}

| Module | Description |
|-|-|
| Retention | Visualize new users and their rates of return and periods between visits. For more information, see [User retention](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/K8EDWBWv0JoaABS3T7t4Ag#view-retention-analytics "User retention reports help you understand how often your users visit your application to better understand if it meets your users' needs and expectations."). |
| Cohort analysis | Create and analyze custom cohorts or groups of users separated from other users by similar traits or actions. For more information, see [Cohort analysis in Usage Insights](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/2wWGPOfOSUJxwcTUxVjSXg "A cohort is a group of users separated from other users by similar traits or actions. Cohorts enable you to group users together based on common behavior to analyze how many users complete certain predetermined actions in a given time frame."). |
| Conversion funnel | Create funnel reports to analyze user completion rates for a specific task. View conversion rates, the number of users progressing from one step to the next and the average time for users to advance to each step and complete the funnel. For more information, see [Funnel reports in Usage Insights](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/pqwwwFwehpuaIr7g_4ehkA "Conversion funnels serve as visual representations of the customer journey, tracking a specific sequence of actions. Investigating a conversion funnel can help you measure and optimize the completion rates of relevant processes within your application."). |
