Idle time analysis focuses on the periods when a case is assigned to a team but not yet assigned to a specific resource. This is the time during which the case remains inactive, waiting for someone to take action.

To enable idle time analysis for a project, set it in the process configuration for the table. For more information about setting idle time analysis in process configuration, see [Configure impact metrics](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/oEpvCIdODJm2CychU2ej2A "Configure the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for this process.").

To set idle time metrics in a project, see [Set metrics](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/sMrxTnTdVXG1pj~dZ7swGQ "Set the metrics to evaluate the process better and improve the process efficiency.").

To know more about how to view the idle time cases from the process map, see the entry for Idle time analysis under the Process map section in [Analyst workbench page](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/xII_tF5q4IREWKXzbxK8iw "View the visualized process map with tools for managing visualizations and performing analysis tasks from a project's page.").
