Create a Platform Analytics filter in the Filter Designer and add it to the library for reuse.

## Vorbereitungen

Hinweis:
Filters that are saved to the filter library are not accessible in the technical editor (UI Builder).

Role required: analytics_filter_admin, admin

## Prozedur

1. To add a filter to the filter library, navigate to Platform AnalyticsLibraryFilters and select New.
   The Filter Designer opens.
2. Select the type of data to filter.
Other configuration options vary depending on the data type you select.
   * [Single select](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/xdlk90Njx8nwhSGUlb8mvw "Let users filter a dashboard tab on one or more values from a set of choices, such as incident priority. You can have a single or multiple select filter follow another filter in a cascade."): A single value from a set of choices. Single select is the default filter type.
   * [Multiple select](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/xdlk90Njx8nwhSGUlb8mvw "Let users filter a dashboard tab on one or more values from a set of choices, such as incident priority. You can have a single or multiple select filter follow another filter in a cascade."): More than one value from a set of choices, such as both High and Critical Priority
   * [Date](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/uhI5HbjPP4zjFpFBtAoOGg "Let users select predefined periods or specify custom start and end dates for the data on a dashboard tab."): A calendar date. You can also set a time. Automatically applies to all indicator data on page or tab.
   * [True/False](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/hwpsqyMcg2PSBT2PapxYKA "Let users filter on true/false fields and breakdown elements. For example, you can enable users to choose only the incidents where the Active field is set to true."): Whether a field value is true or false. Can also be used with indicator breakdowns that are based on a [bucket group](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/zamNVg2135oSvT9fSCJtZA#gloss-bucket-group "Gathers continuous data into discrete groups when there is no table field that can serve as breakdown elements. For example, a bucket group might take differences between timestamps and divide them up into hourly periods.") with only two values.

{#add-filter-library__step_select-filter-type}
3. In the Filter label field, type a meaningful name for the filter.
This name is the name that the user sees.
4. Choose the Filter Element.
Element options depend on the filter type, but include Pill, Checkboxes, and Typeahead.
5. Choose the filter source.
   Options include:

   Tables
: Select the table to filter.

   Indicators
: Select the breakdown to use as the filter.

   Usage Insights
: Select the Usage Insights property to filter on. For more information, see [Filter data in Usage Insights](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/oe6qIGNd_pWeqK_E02uYEQ "Drill down into usage data with standard and custom filters.").

## Ergebnisse

Upon saving, the filter is saved to the library, where any user can add it to their dashboards.
