# Add elements

# Add visual elements to an in-line dashboard {#ariaid-title1}

Populate your dashboard with a selection of widgets, including data visualizations and filters.

## Vorbereitungen

Role required: dashboard_admin for all dashboards, or any role for dashboards that you own or ones that you have been given the right to edit. Editing rights are granted by sharing, independent of role.") for more information about viewing and editing rights on dashboards.

## Prozedur

1. Navigate to AllPlatform AnalyticsLibraryDashboards.
2. Either [create a dashboard](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/_4c1icol7gszagV2sa3ozg "In the Platform Analytics experience, you can create shareable dashboards with data visualizations, filters, and other elements. You can create elements and add existing elements from the inline editor.") or open the dashboard you want to edit.
3. If the dashboard has an Edit button, press it.  
   A new dashboard is automatically in editing mode. A technical dashboard has an Open in UI Builder button instead of an Edit button. For more information about technical dashboards, see [Technical dashboards](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/XAhJJsLCzA8Y8Ao5FJDHxA "If you need more advanced or customized features in a dashboard than you can get through the inline editor, you can create a UI Builder page that is exposed as a dashboard. Such pages are called technical dashboards.").
4. Expand Add New Element.  

   Available elements include Data visualization, Divider, Filter, Filter Group, Heading, Image, List, Process Mining - Map, Rich Text, and Workbench. Workbench elements can only be created in Core UI and are
   added to Platform Analytics experience in iframes.
5. Select an element to add.

6. If you are adding a data visualization or a filter, select whether to create a new element or use one saved in the relevant library.
7. If you are creating a new element, configure it, following one of these tasks:
