Before you can use the Advanced Promotion Engine feature, you must activate it from the list of plugins.

To activate the <var class="keyword varname">var.adv-promo-eng</var>, you also need to install a plugin for ACC-M, which includes Metric Intelligence plugin, as described in [Exploring Agent Client Collector Monitoring](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/un8kKXyv_YCul0qZq_uoBg "Agent Client Collector Monitoring is built on a Sensu framework which enables you to adopt and extend monitoring checks from the community. Agent Client Collector Monitoring collects data on your company’s infrastructure and installed applications.").

If you don't plan to use ACC-M, install Metrics Intelligence plugin only, as described in [Get started with Metric Intelligence](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/y3GqE_1NYW0LNEdcyRIHBw "Complete the following setup and initial configuration steps to start using Metric Intelligence.").

## Prozedur

1. Navigate to System DefinitionPlugins.
2. Locate Advanced Promotion Engine (id: sn_metric_promote).
3. Select the entry and review the app details on the Store Application Advanced Promotion Engine form.
4. Select Activate/Upgrade in the Related Links section.
5. Select Activate.
