Cloud Migration Assessment presents information on IT resources that ITOM Visibility discovered and stored in the CMDB. If your ServiceNow
solution deploys third-party discovery tools, Cloud Migration Assessment
displays the information discovered by these tools.  
To use Cloud Migration Assessment for planning and monitoring the migration process, you perform the following tasks:

1. [Install Cloud Migration Assessment](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/74CjINHEI~uAxc6Y~W0SjQ#install-cloud-migation "You can install the Cloud Migration Assessment application (com.sn_cloud_migration) if you have the admin role. The application includes demo data and installs related ServiceNow Store applications and plugins if they are not already installed.").
2. [Plan the migration
   process](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/1Q270xt~kuLh8i3lg72R~Q "Consider aspects of the current IT infrastructure, anticipate possible consequences of migration, and decide on the migration strategy.").
3. [Create assessment tasks and

4. [Assign resources to assessment tasks in Configurable Workspace](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/RKupxdhMhc8GwCLgvdDqNQ "Once you planned how to migrate resources to the cloud, you can assign the resources to assessment tasks.").
5. Notify personnel owning the migration process that they can begin migrating resources.
