# Configure the SBOM generation

Enable the Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) creation and avoid duplicate SBOM files from being generated by setting the system properties.

## Vorbereitungen

Verify the following setup:

* ServiceNow AI Platform, at least the Utah release
* Discovery and Service Mapping Patterns is up to date.
* CMDB CI Class Models, is up to date.
* Visibility Content is up to date.
* MID Server requirements: 8GB RAM with 4GB JVM and the Scan container images capability. For more information, see [Scan container images](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/UTbSIVntApDwhDpF77lahA "Enable container image scanning using the Aqua Trivy tool.")

Role required: discovery_admin

## Prozedur

1. Select the SBOM format.
   1. In the navigation filter, enter <kbd class="ph userinput">sys_properties.list</kbd>.
   2. On the System Properties list, search for the <kbd class="ph userinput">sn_itom_pattern.sbom_format</kbd> and select the record.
   3. Set the Value field to your desired format.  
      The available formats are:
      * cyclonedx
      * spdx-json
      * spdx

      Hinweis:  
      Setting the value to None disables the creation of the SBOM.

2. Set the sys_attachment system property to avoid duplicate SBOM files from being generated.
   1. Navigate to AllSystem DefinitionTables
   2. On the Tables form in the Label field, enter <kbd class="ph userinput">*attach</kbd>.
   3. Select the Attachment record.
   4. Select the Application Access tab.
   5. Select the Can delete check box.
   6. Select Update.
