# Set the default location

# Set the default location on a map {#ariaid-title1}

Set the initial default location for a service location on a map.

## Vorbereitungen

The Using map validation option must be set before you can
configure the initial default location on a map. See [Set the default validation option for service locations](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/R7RjnuOd40evukY04jH9GA "Set the default validation option that will be used when adding locations to a work order or work order task.").

Role required: admin

## Prozedur

1. Navigate to AllField ServiceAdministrationConfiguration.
2. In the Field Service Configuration page, navigate to Add-onsService Locations.
3. In the Validation field, select Using map.
4. Choose the default location from which the map will initialize from the Initial rendering location list.
   * Browser location
   * Asset address
   * Contact/Caller address
   * Company address

5. Click Save.

## Ergebnisse

The map loads with the selected default location.
