The Planned Work Management application works with Field Service Management to help organizations create and manage the planned work activities with recurring schedules at regular intervals. The planned work activities include, maintenance, inspections, audits or
more.

With Planned Work Management, organizations can configure recurring activities based on time intervals, meter readings, or specific conditions, ensuring that critical maintenance work is executed consistently and proactively. The
application also provides forecasting capabilities and access to maintenance cycle history, enabling better resource planning and improved operational visibility.

Planned Work Management enhances maintenance operations by supporting dynamic scheduling, multi‑asset maintenance plans, and automated adjustments when exceptions occur.

## Key benefits {#planned-work-management__section_yzr_2ky_d3c}

Flexible scheduling control
: Create and manage recurring planned work using customizable schedules and templates tailored to business needs.

Supports multi-asset maintenance plans
: Develop maintenance plans that include multiple assets at a single location, simplifying complex maintenance operations.

Dynamic work order creation
: Automatically generate work orders based on time intervals, usage metrics (such as pages printed or miles driven), or condition based triggers. This eliminates the need to manually remember maintenance schedules.

Automatic adjustments for exceptions
: Future work orders are intelligently recalculated when delays, cancellations, or variations occur in previously scheduled tasks.

Accurate forecasting
: Forecast planned work orders to optimize resources, and plan for required parts or inventory.

Improved maintenance visibility
: Access complete maintenance cycle history for any asset or inventory item to support audits, compliance, and informed decision making.
