# Configure legal contract template participants

# Create and configure participants for legal contract template {#ariaid-title1}

Add and configure participants that act as placeholder for users who will be assigned as signers of a contract document.

## Vorbereitungen

A Microsoft Word document must have been uploaded and parsed to provide template mappings for the contract template. For more information, see [Create a Microsoft Word legal contract template](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/zdCIE9NJOwluJQ0QvWAJpw "Create a legal contract template in Microsoft Word format that can be used to generate a standard contract with predefined content when an employee submits a contract request.").

Role required: sn_lg_contracts.contracts_config

## Prozedur

1. Navigate to AllLegal AdministrationSimple Contracts AdminContract Templates.
2. Open a contract template.
3. In the Participants related list, click New.
4. On the form, fill in the fields.

   | Field | Description |
   |-|-|
   | Name | Unique display name of the mapped participant. Hinweis: The length of the name should be equal to or less than the length allocated in the Word document template for a signer. |
   | Order | Order in which the signature request will be initiated for the participant. |
   | Signer | User field from the list of fields that are populated from the Signer \[sn_lg_contracts_signer\] table. Hinweis: You can select only the highlighted user fields. The user in the mapped field is automatically added as a signatory in the document. |

5. Select Submit.
