# Create an external link

# Create an external link {#ariaid-title1}

Create external links to access external resources and content. When creating a quick
link, you can select an external link as the content type to display in a topic.

## Vorbereitungen

Role required: sp_admin, taxonomy_admin, or taxonomy_manager

## Prozedur

1. Navigate to AllContent TaxonomyExternal Links.
2. Click New.
3. On the form, fill in the fields.  
   For more information about the form fields and descriptions, see [External Link form](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/q7GjqS~7mTf3s~SznTawhg "Use the External Link form to create an external link.").
4. Click Save or Submit.
