# Set assignment rules

# Set assignment rules in CBS {#ariaid-title1}

Configure assignment rules for each business unit in Core Business Suite to
control how tasks are automatically assigned to groups or users based on defined
conditions.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn_cbs.admin{#set-assignment-rules-cbs__set-assignment-rules-cbs-prereq-p-1}

## About this task

Assignment rules are available by default
for all business units. The default setting is inactive. Set the default
configuration as Active for the business units you
require.{#set-assignment-rules-cbs__set-assignment-rules-cbs-context-p-1}

## Procedure

1. Navigate to Admin HomeCore Business Suite and select Configure on the Product Hub page.
2. In the Configuration Summary section, go to the Assignment Rules section of the business unit you want to configure, such as Human Resources.
3. **Optional:** In the Active list, select true for the default assignment rules you plan to use for that business unit.
4. **Optional:** Select a default assignment rule to open and edit it.
5. **Optional:** On the Edit assignment rule form, complete the fields and select Save.

6. **Optional:** On the Assignment Rules page, select Add New to create a custom rule.

Assignment rules are configured for the
