# Configuring app generation {#ariaid-title1}

To build applications with app generation, install ServiceNow Otto for Creator and enable the app generation skill in the AI Admin Hub.

Starting with the Australia release, app generation is being prepared for future deprecation. It will be hidden and no longer activated on new instances but will continue to be supported. Build Agent provides the latest experience for this functionality. Before you can generate applications, install ServiceNow Otto for Creator on your instance and enable the app generation skill in the AI Admin Hub. This gives app generation the permissions and AI capabilities it needs to build applications for you. You also need to set app generation as your preference for creating AI-assisted applications in
the ServiceNow Studio user preferences menu.
