Key Features
- Activity Insights: Managers and employees can view detailed insights on completed and in-progress skill-related activities via Manager Hub and Conversations, supporting meaningful engagement and accurate skill assessments.
- Mentoring Collaboration: Mentees can share mentoring information with managers, who in turn gain visibility into mentees’ skill activities to validate skill levels.
- Skill Profile Management: Employees receive prompts to self-rate and update their skill profiles, and can select role levels and add skills directly from their Career profile in the Employee Portal.
- Skills Workspace Enhancements: Provides a node map visualization of Company Job Architecture, showing job families, role groups, and related skills, helping identify data issues and enabling direct updates of role levels and skills.
- Skill Recommendations: Role groups and skills recommendations are available within Skills Workspace to guide skill development.
- Skill Imports Playbook: Replaces the previous Skills onboarding feature with a more dynamic and interactive import experience for managing skill data.
- User Interface Updates: Added a Job architecture icon for quick access in Skills Workspace and renamed Skills onboarding to Skill imports in the import history menu.
Important Changes and Activation
- The previous Skills onboarding feature is removed; customers must migrate existing skills data by downloading skills marked Ready for review and re-uploading them using the new Skill imports process.
- Skills Foundation must be installed via the ServiceNow Store; the Skills Workspace plugin (snskillsintws) is required to access the workspace features.

Skills Foundation was enhanced and updated in the Xanadu release to provide enhanced visibility into employee skill activities across a range of Talent Development products.
Skills Foundation highlights for the Xanadu release
- View activity insights to gain more information on completed and in-progress activities related to skills. This focus on completed and recent activities allows you (managers) to track meaningful engagement and ensures data relevance in skill assessment. Activity insights are available both to the employee via Conversations and to the manager via Manager Hub.
- As a mentee, share mentoring information with your manager to help them validate your skill levels. As managers, access insights related to their assigned mentees’ skill-based activities (when shared with a manager).
- As an employee, receive prompts tied to skill-based activities, nudging you to self-rate and refresh your skill profile.
- View and edit the Company Job Architecture as a node map to get a better sense of job families and role groups and the skills related to each other in Skills Workspace.
- View recommendations for role groups and skills in Skills Workspace.
- Select a Role level directly from your Career profile in the Career hub in Employee Portal and add skills to your profile.
- Migrate to a more dynamic and interactive playbook experience within the Skills Workspace.

Removed in this release
The Skills onboarding feature is removed and is replaced with Skill imports playbook experience. For customers who already have their data in Skills onboarding, download all the skills in the Ready for review state and re-upload them using the new import process. For more information, see .
Activation information
Install Skills Foundation by requesting it from the ServiceNow Store. Visit the ServiceNow Store website to view all the available apps and for information about submitting requests to the store.
